Veronica and Joseph adopted a girl they found under a park bridge, but she never spoke. One night, she walked into their bedroom and said, “Thank you, Mom & Dad,” startling them.
After losing their son to cancer, the couple often visited the park for solace. One day, Veronica suggested trying for another child, but Joseph urged caution. As they walked, Veronica noticed a small girl hiding under the bridge. They took her to a café, fed her, and brought her home.
The next morning, they contacted the authorities, but the girl clung to Veronica, prompting a social worker to suggest they foster her. Though hesitant, Joseph agreed. They eventually adopted her, but the girl remained silent due to trauma.
Despite their efforts, including creating a princess-themed room, the girl showed no reaction. However, one night she entered their room in tears and said, “Thank you, Mom & Dad. The bed… the princess… I love it! Can you call me Sky?” They embraced her, touched by her first words.
Sky later shared her tragic past, revealing she was homeless after her mother’s death. The couple comforted her, feeling their meeting was destined.
