Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jon Bon Jovi and his family for their tragic loss

The singer called her a “force to be reckoned with.”

JON The mother of Bon Jovi, Carol Bongiovi, died three days before her 83rd birthday.

After Carol died on Tuesday at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch, New Jersey, Jon, 62, said some very sad things about her.

“Our mother was a force to be reckoned with, her spirit and can-do attitude shaped this family,” Jon said to PEOPLE.

“She will be greatly missed.”

The fan club for her son’s band was started by Carol, who used to be a Playboy bunny.

In 1959, she joined the U.S. Marine Corps, which is where she met John Bongiovi, Sr., the man she would later marry.

They raised their kids in Sayreville, New Jersey, after moving there.

After that, they moved to Holmdel, New Jersey, and she stayed there until she died.

People said that Carol’s funeral, which will be private, will be run by Holmdel Funeral Home.

Her husband of 63 years and their three children, Jon, Anthony, and Matthew, will miss her.

Jon has said before that his parents gave him “incredible support” when he was a kid and wanted to be a singer.

He told The Big Issue in November 2020, “Even if you weren’t good at your craft, you could work on it if you thought you were.”

“As I got older, I saw what a great gift my parents gave me.

“They really thought that John F. Kennedy was telling them to go to the moon.” “Of course you can go to the moon.” John, just leave. I went there.

The musician talked about how, when he was 17, his parents would take him to shows.

Jon remembered how his parents helped him follow his dreams by letting him play gigs when he was 17.

“They were always supportive of me, which in retrospect, was incredible,” said he.

“Because I could get home at one or two in the morning and still have to be at school at eight o’clock.”

“They just said, show up on time for school, you know that is your responsibility, but pursue your dream.”

Jon is married to Dorothea Hurley, the girl he fell in love with in high school.

The week before, he talked to The Sun about how excited he was about the wedding.

“My grandchildren will be more English than Italian or any of my other roots!” “That’s crazy, right?” The rock star yelled.“All of a sudden, your kids are married and talking to you about having grandchildren… wow!” This is the longest chapter in my book.
