Harmony Thomas Scott rose to fame in 1979 after playing Nikki Newman in the popular soap series “The Young and the Restless.” She had a seemingly beautiful life as an actress, but she also had a problematic past, which she kept private until her honest book was published.
When she was thirteen, she starred alongside Geraldine Page and Clint Eastwood in the film “The Beguiled.” She co-starred with Kirk Douglas in the film “Posse.” Douglas also directed the movie. She had theater appearances in well-known plays like “Love Letters,” “Jane Martin’s Talking With,” and “The Vagina Monologues.” She attended the University of Southern California to study piano.
She received her first Daytime Emmy nomination in 1999 for Outstanding Lead Actress. She was given a similar award by Soap Opera Digest two years later. She received four Soap Opera Update Awards (1992, 1993, 1995, and 1996) for Outstanding Lead Actress.
